Brockton is the seventh largest city in Massachusetts with a population of about 95,000 people.  It is sometimes referred to as the "City of Champions", due to the success of native boxers Rocky Marciano and Marvin Hagler, as well as its' successful Brockton High School sports programs. Two of the villages within the city are Montello and Campello:  both have the distinction of having their own MBTA Commuter Rail Stations and post offices.  Brockton hosts a baseball team, the Brockton Rox and is one of the windiest cities in the United States, with an average wind speed of 14.3 mph.

In September and October 2018, home sales dropped slightly from the same time period the previous year:  158 single family homes sold in 2017 compared to 148 sold in 2018.  The number of days a home stayed on the market averaged 42 in 2017 and 41 in 2018.  There was a small increase in prices though this year.  The average home sold for $283,201 in 2017 but increased to an average of $304,695 in 2018.

The condo market in Brockton declined slightly this year in November and December compared to last year in the same time period.  Thirty-six condos sold in 2017 during November and December while 24 sold in the same time period in 2018.  The days a condo remained on the market increased this year:  44 days in 2018 compared to 38 days in 2017.  Like the increase in price in single family homes, we see an increase in condo prices in 2018 with an average of $167,775 compared to last year's of $147,632.
